We are pleased to announce that SOOHO.IO has been selected for the 2025 Blockchain Support Program, organized by Korea’s Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA).

Under the program, SOOHO.IO will build a blockchain-based online platform for digital gift certificates. The market faces several challenges:

• Illegal cash conversion: Unauthorized transactions offering cash at a discount to a certificate’s face value.

• Unauthorized proxy purchases: Fraudulent purchases by third parties rather than the intended users.

• Settlement delays: Merchants not receiving funds on time.

• Unsettled issuer obligations: Cases in which payment is never completed.

These issues affect everyone involved: local governments and corporate issuers, consumers, and merchants.

What SOOHO.IO is building

SOOHO.IO is developing a blockchain platform to address these challenges, drawing on four areas of expertise.

1. Proven technical capabilities

• Experience participating in the Bank of Korea’s CBDC project.

• Practical expertise in building national digital currency systems.

2. Advanced security technology

• Financial-grade security designed to prevent fraudulent transactions.

• Real-time monitoring to detect suspicious activity immediately.

3. Proprietary Chain-to-Chain Communication (C2CC) technology

• Interoperability across different blockchains.

4. Purpose Bound Money (PBM) expertise

• Leadership in digital money with predefined conditions of use.

• Programmable management of eligible merchants, expiration dates, and other rules.

SOOHO.IO’s platform will coordinate the full gift certificate lifecycle:

1. Issuance: Give each certificate a unique digital identifier.

2. Distribution: Track certificates in real time on the blockchain to prevent illegal transactions.

3. Redemption: Verify that only authorized users can redeem certificates.

4. Settlement: Use smart contracts to automate settlement and eliminate delays.
