On August 1, SOOHO.IO signed a memorandum of understanding with the Korea Minting, Security Printing & ID Card Operating Corporation (KOMSCO) to collaborate on digital transformation.

A better payment experience for international visitors

Through the agreement, we aim to address the payment difficulties international visitors face in Korea. Our goal is to make financial services convenient to use without language barriers or cumbersome currency exchange.

The two organizations plan to collaborate in three areas:

• Joint development of digital identity verification and PBM payment platforms: Building services that help international visitors pay easily and securely.

• More digital transformation pilots in Korea and abroad: Participating jointly in government projects to expand real-world digital finance use cases.

• Next-generation digital gift certificate infrastructure: Working together to develop a modern digital voucher platform.

Advancing digital finance together

“Our collaboration with KOMSCO will provide a strong foundation for digital financial innovation,” said Jisu Park, CEO of SOOHO.IO. “We will build world-class digital payment infrastructure and create improvements that international visitors can experience firsthand.”

Seongmin Han, KOMSCO’s ICT Director, said, “We will work together to provide convenient digital identity verification and payment services for a wide range of users, including international visitors to Korea.”

SOOHO.IO’s experience

Since its founding in 2019, SOOHO.IO has helped safeguard more than KRW 3.2 trillion in digital assets through blockchain security technology. Its capabilities have been demonstrated through participation in the Bank of Korea’s CBDC digital voucher project. It is also the only Korean company backed by ConsenSys, founded by Ethereum co-founder Joseph Lubin.
